[Mac-talk] Sound problem

Here is another thing that has been puzzling me. I have an iMac and  
use OS 10.4.11. The level of sound does not remain as I set it in  
System Preferences. I set it to where I want it, then I go about my  
work, but soon the sound becomes muted. There must be a way to keep  
the sound level as set, but I can't figure out what it is.

Any help much appreciated.
