[Mac-talk] Installation and Configuration

To speed up your install significantly by more than 30 minutes use  
this tip:

1. Skip verification of the Install DVD. There is a button marked  
'Skip' - use it. It's there for that purpose. Highly unlikely that the  
DVD from Apple will be corrupted. This alone will save you 20 mins.

2. When you get to the screen that says "Install Summary" (see  
screenshot here http://www.2nrds.com/images/58.jpg) click on the  
"Customize" button.

Then deselect the following:
1. Under "Printer Drivers" deselect all the printers you dont need and  
dont have.
2. Under Languages deselect everything unless you need other languages  
besides English.

The installation should now take you about 30 mins or so.. for a Erase  
& Install option.
For Upgrade it might be slightly more but definitely less than what a  
default installation would take.
